At the end of January, my fiancee & I found out that our cat Mungo had cancer—a very aggressive cancer that does not respond to treatment. We made the decision to keep him as happy and comfortable as we could, for as long as we could. But after a month and a half, things had gotten pretty bad, and with the advice of both our regular vet and our oncologist, we decided it was time to say goodbye last week. It was the hardest thing we ever had to do, but we know it was for the best.
He was the best cat—so well behaved and affectionate. When we saw him at the shelter two and a half years ago, he looked so haggard and pitiful. He won us over instantly with his scratchy old man meow, which was one of our favorite things about him. We could tell he hadn't had an easy life so far—he had lots of chronic health issues, and it took him a long time to be really comfortable with us. But every moment was worth it.
It's been really hard, but my wonderful co-workers not only gave me a sweet card they all signed, but they all pitched in and donated over $200 to the shelter where we adopted Mungo (and where I volunteer). It is the sweetest thing. And we've had so much support from our friends and family, which has been comforting, even though it's really hard not having him here.
Anyways, I didn't mean for this post to be so long, but I wanted to share a little bit about him.
So, there won't be a lot of outfit posts this week because I didn't take any outfit photos last week.
