Starting off the week with one of my favorite makes — this Georgia dress:
What I'm wearing:
Dress: Seamwork Georgia pattern in Ruby Star Society fabric from Finch Studio
Shoes: VanEli from DSW
Earrings: J. Crew Factory
This dress was a bit of a journey—it was my second Georgia, and I decided to forgo the shirttail hem but I thought the length ended up a bit too short. And when I first finished it, I realized the fabric was a little sheer and I'd need a slip, which is a PITA. But I randomly decided to add a lining to it (in a rather hacky way), by using my plain white cotton muslin material, cutting it to the pattern pieces, and affixing it to the seam allowances. And voila, I felt SO much better about this dress! I love that I don't have to worry about a slip now, and I think the length is fine (maybe not office friendly in the summer, but okay with tights when it's cooler). And I love this fabric - the copper threads are metallic! I'm thinking about making another Georgia in the black and white colorway.
I wish I'd been able to get a better picture of these earrings, but they're so fun. Oh, and sorry about the wrinkles—even when working from home, I can't really motivate myself to take photos before I sit down to work for the day.
